Menorca airport is very close to Maó (4.5 km away), where part of the hotel offer and the great harbour are concentrated. The rest of the accommodation is spread along the coast: Ciutadella and the west, and the southern coves (Cala Galdana, Son Bou, Cala en Porter) and the north (Fornells). In Sant Climent and around the airport there are a few hotels meant for layovers or early flights.
The choice of where to sleep rules over how you get around: Maó is reached by bus (line 10), but for the coves and Ciutadella you will almost always need hire car or a transfer in Maó; if the flight is very early or very late, a hotel near the airport saves the early start.
